On November 14, 2024, Education HUB, in collaboration with the Impact Azerbaijan initiative group, successfully held a side event titled “Powering Change: Social Entrepreneurship as a Catalyst for Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility” at the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) held in Baku. The event, held in the green zone of the NGO State Support Agency, brought together renowned institutions in social entrepreneurship, corporate responsibility, and sustainable development to discuss innovative approaches to solving climate and social problems through impact business practices.
The event began with a presentation by Education HUB expert Samir Aliyev on the creation of social entrepreneurship ecosystem and impact funds in Azerbaijan. Later, during the panel discussion, MP Vugar Bayramov discussed the role of social entrepreneurship in climate action and plans for legislation; the intersection of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and social entrepreneurship presented by Gulnara Aslanbayli, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan; Rashad Aliyev, a representative of the Caucasus Ventures investment fund, provided detailed information on sustainable development through social innovation, as well as Gwendolyn Burchell, founder and director of the non-governmental organization Joint Aid to Azerbaijan, on the role of civil society in supporting social enterprises.
The event, moderated by Saida Gurbanova, Program Advisor at Education HUB, concluded with an interesting Q&A session highlighting the potential of social entrepreneurship to achieve positive and sustainable change, as well as raising questions from the audience. The discussions highlighted the importance of joint cooperation between the public, private and civil society sectors to support a sustainable, socially responsible future.

QHT Dövlət Dəstəyi Agentliyinin yaşıl zonasında keçirilən tədbir impakt biznes təcrübələri vasitəsilə iqlim və sosial problemlərin həlli üçün innovativ yanaşmaları müzakirə etmək üçün sosial sahibkarlıq, korporativ məsuliyyət və davamlı inkişafda tanınmış qurumları bir araya gətirdi.
Tədbir Education HUB-ın eksperti Samir Əliyevin Azərbaycanın sosial sahibkarlıq ekosistemi və təsir fondlarının yaradılmasına dair təqdimatla başladı. Daha sonra panel müzakirəsi zamanı millət vəkili Vüqar Bayramov iqlim fəaliyyətində sosial sahibkarlığın rolu və qanunvericilik sahəsində nəzərdə tutulan planlar; Amerika Ticarət Palatasının Azərbaycandakı icraçı direktoru Gülnarə Aslanbəylinin təqdim etdiyi Korporativ Sosial Məsuliyyət (KSM) və sosial sahibkarlığın kəsişməsi; Caucasus Ventures investisiya fondunun nümayəndəsi Rəşad Əliyev sosial innovasiyalar vasitəsilə davamlı inkişaf, həmçinin Azərbaycana Birgə yardım qeyri hökumət təşkilatının təsisçisi və direktoru Qvendolin Burçel sosial müəssisələrin dəstəklənməsində vətəndaş cəmiyyətinin rolu haqqında ətraflı olaraq məlumat verdi.
Education HUB-ın Proqram Məsləhətçisi Səidə Qurbanovanın moderatorluğu ilə keçirilən tədbir, müsbət və davamlı dəyişikliklərə nail olmaq üçün sosial sahibkarlığın potensialını vurğulayan, həmçinin auditoriya tərəfindən qaldırılan maraqlı sual-cavab sessiyası ilə yekunlaşıb. Müzakirələr davamlı, sosial məsuliyyətli gələcəyin dəstəklənməsi üçün dövlət, özəl və vətəndaş cəmiyyəti sektorları arasında birgə əməkdaşlığın vacibliyini vurğulayıb.
